Life story

" Margie Louise Lemley was the kind of Southern lady who would light up a room the moment she walked in. Born on August 19th 1944 in Birmingham,Alabama and passing peacefully on March 27th 2026 in Stuart,FL. Margie spent 81 beautiful years loving deeply, laughing loudly, teaching faithfully and pouring her heart into everyone blessed to know her.
To know Margie was to love her. She never met a stranger and had a God-given gift for making folks feel right at home. Whether you knew her your whole life or had just met her, she had a way of making you feel seen, welcomed and cared for. Her warmth was genuine, her kindness endless and her heart bigger than words could ever properly describe.
Margie’s personality was unforgettable. She was funny, quick-witted, playful and delightfully goofy at times, and she absolutely loved sharing laughter with the people around her. She could brighten the darkest day with one of her jokes, a clever remark or simply that unmistakable sparkle she carried with her everywhere she went. Her joy of life was contagious, and her laughter will echo forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
Family, friends and faith were the corner stones of Margie’s world. She shared a special closeness with her siblings throughout her life and treasured every moment spent with people she loved. Her door was always open, her table always had room for one more, and her heart never ran short on love to give.
Her faith guided the way she lived each and every day. Margie carried herself with grace, compassion, humility and a servants heart. Always willing to help someone in need and never expecting anything in return.
For more than 45 yrs Margie devoted her career to education and to shaping young minds. She began her teaching career at Blessed Sacrament School and retired from Palm Beach Day Academy after decades of inspiring students, encouraging children, and building lifelong friendships with families and fellow educators alike. Teaching wasn’t just a career to Margie- it was truly part of her calling. She loved being in the schools, loved her students dearly, and found genuine joy in helping children grow and succeed.
Margie found happiness in two things she loved most: gardening and the people closest to her. If you knew Margie, you knew she had a green thumb second to none. She could make just about anything bloom and grow, pouring the same love and care into her plants that she poured into the people around her. Her gardens reflected her spirit- beautiful, vibrant, comforting and full of life.
And come football season, there was never any question where her loyalty stood. Margie was a proud and devoted lifelong fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, cheering loud, waving that Pom-pom, celebrating every win and standing faithful through every season. “Roll Tide Roll” wasn’t just something she said- it was stitched into her soul.
Above all else, Margie will be remembered for the way she loved people. She loved her family, her friends, her students, her neighbors, and life itself with her whole heart. She was selfless, compassionate, giving beyond measure, and the kind of person this world simply needs more of. Her presence made life brighter, sweeter, and a whole lot better for everyone lucky enough to know her.
Though her passing leaves a hole in many hearts, her love, her laughter, her faith and her beautiful spirit will live on forever in the countless lives she touched.
