Life story
"Obituary for Christopher “Chris” Hunt
Christopher “Chris” Hunt was born on May 12, 1958, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Lee Author Hunt and Polly Ann Champion. Chris was preceded in death by both biological grandparents, both parents, and many relatives on both sides of the family. Early in his childhood, Chris and his mother moved to Bakersfield, California from Shreveport, Louisiana, Chris later to Madera, California which became his lifelong home. It was in 2022 Chris decided to transition to Killeen, Texas where Sandra and Luther were already residing. Chris was the eldest sibling to Sandra, Jerry, and Luther Gerome, and he took great pride in being a big brother, always willing to give his all to bring a smile to his loved ones’ faces, his cousins Gary (Las Vegas, NV) and Elaine (Arcadia, LA) would chat back and forth on the phone with him constantly, but he didn't care who you were, related or not Chris would strike up a conversation with you at anytime, anywhere.
Christopher Lee Hunt proudly graduated from Arcadia High School's 'Class of 1976' soon to commemorate their 50th Year Class reunion in celebration of "50 Years of Greatness!" His cousin Elaine Davis also shared in that same class year and will be present to honor Chris "in memoriam." After graduation, Chris proudly served in the United States Army during the early 1970s and was honorably discharged. During his service, he attained black belt and brown belt status in karate and judo, carrying official titles and skills he honed overseas during the Vietnam era. An ardent admirer of Bruce Lee, and Chuck Norris (who sadly passed one week after Chris.) Chris embraced the martial arts ethos and carried that discipline throughout his life. Known for his warm and welcoming nature once again, Chris never met a stranger. He could effortlessly engage anyone from casual chats about the weather to in-depth discussions on politics and life. Possessing a remarkable memory, he could recall with precision even the smallest details of events from decades ago.
Chris loved deeply. The losses of his beloved mother Polly Ann in 1990 and recently Jean, the love of his life, left profound voids in his heart. Despite this, he remained steadfast in his faith in God, finding strength in spiritual resilience. His treasure trove of stories and his gift of conversation could captivate friends and family for hours.
Chris Hunt was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend to many. His presence was a true gift, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Though words cannot express the depth of our loss, we take comfort that God has called him to rest, knowing his work here on earth was faithfully done. We love you, Chris, and you will be missed always."
