Life story
"Darryl Lee Williams, 55, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on April 27, 2026. Born on April 17, 1971, in Athens, Georgia, Darryl lived a life marked by quiet strength, genuine kindness, and steady devotion to those around him.
Darryl attended Detroit public schools and graduated from Cody High School in 1989. That same year, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country with honor as a veteran of the Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm.
After his military service, Darryl built a long and meaningful career at Star Center, where he spent 27 years as a valued and respected employee. His colleagues knew him as someone they could always count on, a reflection of the
dependable, hardworking man he was in every part of his life.
Those who knew Darryl would describe him as kind, soft spoken, and genuinely humble. He never sought the spotlight, but his quiet presence had a way of making people feel comfortable and cared for. Outside of work, he was a lifelong and loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a passion he carried with him through every
season. Darryl was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Green. He is survived by
his father, Frank Ingram; his brothers, Dexter Williams, Christopher Williams and Derrick Ingram ; his longtime partner Rosalyn Stone; along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. A funeral service celebrating Darryl's life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 3:00
