"JD was of Christian faith. He was a member and Deacon of Love of God Baptist Church in Bassett, VA. After moving to Florida, JD was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Mims, FL which is now called Faith Fellowship Baptist Church of Mims, FL.

JD loved fishing, gardening, and feeding squirrels.
