" Betty "Sue" Bybee
Sue Bybee, 92, of New Deal, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 14, 1933, in Van Alstyne, Texas, to Essie Dee Prentice and John Macklin Clack. She was raised in Slaton, Texas, and later made her home in New Deal, where she lived for many years and built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Sue married the love of her life, Bobby Joe Bybee, and together they shared a lifetime of memories until his passing in 2019. Their marriage was marked by deep devotion, joyful adventures, and a shared love of traveling together. To their family, they were affectionately known as “Buddy” and “Nanny,” names that reflected the warmth and closeness they created in every generation that followed.
Sue was a woman of great joy and deep love for her family. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, her joyful nature, and the unwavering love she gave so freely.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda and husband Duggan Wood of New Deal; son, Brad and wife Terri Bybee of Waco; son, Bryan and wife Debi Bybee of New Deal; along with a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Bybee; her son, Billy Earl Bybee; and her parents, Essie Dee Clack and John Macklin Clack.
Sue’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. "
