Life story

" Francie Ann Fox, 72, of Fredericksburg, VA, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 3, 1953, in Clarksburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Cherubino. Francie grew up surrounded by close family, spending her childhood playing on the same street as her cousins. She began working from a young age, delivering newspapers to her community and went on to graduate from Notre Dame High School in 1971.

While working at Union Carbide in Clarksburg, she met the love of her life, Davis B. Fox. They married on July 16, 1983 and later moved to Fredericksburg, VA in 1985 where they settled and raised their family.

Francie dedicated 40 years of service within the land development industry and nearly 35 of those years with Hazel Land Companies, where she built lasting relationships and friendships. She was known for her strong work ethic and unwavering commitment. Francie lived a full and vibrant life centered on faith, family, and connection. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, finding joy in prayer and sharing her love of God with others.

She loved staying active, especially through water aerobics and exercise, and never passed up an opportunity to dance or go on an adventure. Francie also found great joy in cooking and had a gift for bringing people together around her table. She was endlessly devoted to her family and friends, always offering support, encouragement, and love.

Known for her contagious smile and vibrant spirit, Francie was an extraordinary Nama to her grandchildren. As their biggest fan, she was the loudest and proudest cheerleader at every game and event. Her presence brought an unforgettable warmth, energy, and joy to every room she entered.

Francie is survived by her beloved husband, Davis B. Fox; son, Ryan D. Fox and wife Katie Fox; daughter, Kristen F. Angilletta and husband Francis J. Angilletta III; cherished grandchildren, Tyler Fox, Emma Fox, Allie Angilletta, Sophie Angilletta, and Ella Fox; sister Teresa Grimes; and brother Frank Cherubino. Francie joins her parents, Frank and Mary Cherubino, in Heaven.

A celebration of life will be held to honor her memory in the coming weeks, with details to follow.

Flowers are welcome and may be sent to 1817 Artillery Ridge Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. However, in lieu of immediate delivery, the family kindly requests to hold deliveries until June 3, 2026, ahead of the celebration of life.
