Life story
" It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Camille Gay Swick. Cam was born on August 11, 1957, to Emil and Sharon Topel. She died peacefully on April 19, 2026.
Cam was an Iowa native and moved with her family to Virginia.
She always called herself a “printer” but was a talented graphic designer who worked for the Supreme Court and the IRS. She was loved and respected by everyone she worked with. She loved gardening, camping and the beach and found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who would have done anything for her family. Cam never met a stranger. People were drawn to her kindness and wit. She will be remembered for her love of family, her caring spirit and the warmth that she brought to those around her.
Camille leaves behind her children Buddy (Kylie) Swick and Natalie Campbell and her grandson Colton Campbell. She is also survived by her siblings David (Kerry) Topel, Charlene (Doug) Peterson, Laurie Topel and Blain (Dawn) Topel and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved corgis, Mister and Princess. She is preceded in death by her husband Gregory and her parents.
If desired, family and friends may gather to honor and remember her life in their own meaningful way. There will be a celebration of life at a future date.
“If I had a friend all on this earth, you’ve been a friend to me.” "
Services will be announced at a later date.
