Life story

" Amy was born on January 17th, 1969, to Susan Washburn and William Washburn.

She attended Albion College followed by Washington & Lee University School of Law where she graduated as a lawyer. She practiced law in the DC-Baltimore area for years, as well as serving in the US delegation to the United Nations, before meeting her husband William Simon and moving to Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin she successfully passed the bar exam again and worked as a lawyer first in Sheboygan, then in Milwaukee. While in Milwaukee her primary area of practice involved complex litigation and she was one of the lawyers responsible for bringing a multi-million dollar settlement to Wisconsin plantiffs.

After leaving her position she ran for the US House of Representatives twice as well as being active politically both online and with the Sheboygan County Democrats. She campaigned primarily on healthcare access and campaign finance reform.

Her hobbies included drawing/sketching, reading, and cooking. She also greatly enjoyed scavenger hunts and other group projects. "
