Life story
" After graduating from NYU with a degree in retail, she took a job as a buyer for a New York department store and married her high school sweetheart, Jack, in 1956. While raising her three daughters, she became very involved with Girl Scouts. She was a teacher’s aide in a New Rochelle elementary school as well as a bookseller in Eastchester, New York.
Lynn lived alternately between New Rochelle and Miami before coming to the Gulf Coast. In Miami, she joined a Sweet Adeline chorus and stayed busy with their activities. “One day a week” became a running joke! There she was awarded Suncoast Rookie of the Year in 1991, Golden Apple Recipient in 1999, and Sweet Adeline of the Year (Goldcoast Chorus) 1999-2000.
She moved to Fort Myers to join Spirit of the Gulf Chorus and continued her involvement with Sweet Adelines.
Lynn had a creative streak. She became an accomplished watercolorist often painting what she saw in nature. She also became a skilled calligrapher. Frequent family camping trips across the United States and Canada immersed her in nature. Her love of nature, art, and music were all passed down to her daughters.
