Life story

"Ruth attended school in New Haven, IL. She moved to Paducah in 1950. She attend Draughn's Junior College in Paducah and studied a secretarial assistant degree. She later attended technical training for drafting. She was a draft person at Union Carbide for three years in the mid 1970s. She attended First Christian Church in Paducah.

Ruth was an avid and very talented crafter and seamstress. She was member of crafting group since the 1980s up until five days before she died. Ruth made dear forever friends in this group. They took trips together and gathered weekly to work on projects they were all individually creating. Ruth said many times they just sat and gossiped. When Ruth saw or thought of a project she wanted to do, regardless of the size or scope, she always got it done. From tiny delicate hand painted pieces, to recovering and refinishing furniture, to building a fireplace surround and mantel. Her patients, talent, and creativity were endless."
