Life story

"Mary Kay Gordon,
Mary Kay Kilmer,
Mary Kay Pichignau.

February 22, 1939 - March 26, 2026

Mary, known to many as “Kay,” was born on February 22, 1939, in Texas, to her father, Isom Gordon, and her mother, Mary Gordon. She lived in El Paso, Texas, and later moved with her family to Oregon. She was known in high school as “Tex” and worked really hard to lose her southern twang to drop that nickname. She met Conrad Kilmer, married, and had Joni, Katherine, and Mary. She then married Nick Pichignau and moved to San Anselmo, California. She spent her years in Novato, California, and her last years in Star, Idaho, being cared for by her daughter, Katherine. “Kay” was full of life, a laughter that could cause a smile on all. She loved animals, art, gardening, and mash.  a LOT of mash. But most importantly, she loved her family.

She is now reunited in heaven with those who went before her, including her parents, Isom and Mary Gordon, Nick, and all loved ones who welcomed her with open arms.

She is survived by her sister, Jean Bolton. Her daughters, Joni Adair, Katherine Nichols, Mary Smith, and her bonus daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Green.

Her grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Cameron Nichols, Portia Nichols, and Katrina Nichols.

Her nieces, Elizabeth Turnbull, Janet Bolton, Julie O’Brien; Nephews, Brent Gordon and David Gordon.
