Life story

" Claire was raised on a farm and boarding house operated by her parents in New York's Catskill Mountains. An early job was as an Ellenville telephone operator. With her husband Bob's IBM career, she lived in Endicott, N.Y., Rochester, Minnesota, Burlington, Vermont, and Manassas, Virginia. While raising three children Claire worked several jobs to include teaching, school staffing, and IBM manufacturing. She was also co-owner of The Taboret Art Supply Store, in Manassas, VA with her husband and daughter Debbie for 12 years. During this time, Claire was a member of the Manassas Art Guild. Retiring to Madison, VA in 2001, she was an active member of the community. Volunteer work included the Madison County Grange, Madison chapter of the Salvation Army, Madison Habitat for Humanity, the Malvern HOA, the Stage Alive! Community Concert Association of Culpeper and she kept her love of art alive in a local art club. She also was a 25-year member of Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Catholic Church and participant in the Church's Society of Seniors.
