Life story

"Phillip Fabel was born in 1940 and grew up in Milbank, South Dakota. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed for a year on the DMZ in the Korean conflict, and then at Fort Lewis, where he fell in love with the Pacific NW. He graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings, where he met and married his wife, Carolyn, who preceded Phil in death in 2001. The young couple moved to Washington state in 1966, living in Seattle until moving to Orting, WA in 1994. Phil was clean and sober for over 42 years and deeply grateful to be in Recovery, surrounded by a loving and supportive group. He is survived by his three children, Kim, Chris and Katie, and one grandson, DaMario. A celebration of life will be held on June 13; see Service tab (the service can also be streamed live or watched later; a link will be added the day before the service).
