Life story

" Always ready for a good time, Dottie's zest for life was contagious. She brought joy to everyone around her, loved with all she had and always had a smile on her face. There wasn't anyone she met who didn't become a friend. She loved her family especially, the times spent together were her most treasured memories and the ones we now cling to as we remember her.
Dottie had a special pull for the ocean, it was a place of peace for her with her toes in the sand, listening to the waves crash. Her wishes for her final resting place were to become a part of the ocean through an Eternal Reefs system.
She had a strong faith and belief in God. She found peace and solace throughout her life knowing that she was never alone. Her favorite poem was "footprints in the sand". You can't get much better than the Lord and the beach.
She worked for the US Government most of her life, leaving for a while to be at home with her kids. When she was ready to return, she worked full time for the NSA and then moved to the US Census Bureau where she worked until she retired in 2016.
Dottie was married for 54 years to Tom "TP" Parsons. They shared a life of adventures from travel to motorcycles to boats and eventually kids. They always had fun and hilarious stories to tell.
Together they had two children, 7 grandchildren and 1.5 great-grandchildren (one is on the way).
She was an amazing mom, there was nothing she wouldn't do with or for her kids.
She leaves behind her son Michael Shane Parsons, his wife Kristin and her daughter Kimberly A. (Parsons) Williams, her husband Timothy.
Her grandchildren Jacob, Gabrielle (Willow), Kennan, Caleb, his wife Kristen, Josephine, Logan and Elijah.
Her great-grandchildren Tommy and coming very soon Katelyn, who she was so excited to meet.
She also leaves behind her sister Dona Rogovsky, who was more than just a sister to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Jane Salmon, her brother David Salmon and her husband Thomas Parsons.
Dottie's passing has left a hole in her family that will never be filled, but the joy they have knowing that she is with the Lord and the loved ones she's been missing gives them all peace.
A celebration of life will be held this summer, details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Wounded Warrior Project or other like minded organizations. "

Services will be announced at a later date.
