Life story

" Lindell Ray Shepheard
(03/25/1946- 02/13/2026)

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept
the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,
which, the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that
day---and not only to me, but also all who have longed for His

appearing”
2 Timothy 4:7-8

Lindell (Ray) Shepheard of Claremont, VA was called to his eternal home on
February 13 th , 2026. His final moments were at Chippenham Hospital surrounded by
family.
Ray was born on March 25, 1946 to the late Thomas and Catherine Shepheard in
Illinois.
He is survived by the love of his life Roberta (Bobbie) Shepheard. Also left to cherish
his memory are his two daughters Sheila Grimley and Lyn Dell Brown (Shepheard), his
son-in-law Michael Grimley, two grandsons Mikey Grimley and Bryant Grimley, his
grand-daughter Selena Moore, his grandson-in-law Brandon Moore, and his two great
grand-children Cassie Moore and August (Auggie) Moore. Ray loved his family very
much and they loved him right back.
Ray was a wonderful provider as a skilled tradesman, being both a Journey Man and
a Foreman in the roofing field until retirement. He continued to put these skills to use in
his retirement when called to do so, as he was always joyously willing and ready to help
his friends and loved ones.
He was a man of faith and attended Claremont Baptist Church for 26 years where he
served as a Deacon. He loved his church family dearly and looked forward to
fellowshipping and praising the Lord alongside them. He was baptized at Waverly
Baptist by the late Pastor Dawson. His baptism service was held March 7, 2004 where
his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ celebrated with him.
Ray was a man with a good sense of humor, great big heart, and who enjoyed the
simple blessings in life. His wife’s, Bobbie, good cooking, fishing, reading his Bible and
a good western novel, collecting antique toys, watching classic Western movies

(Especially Clint Eastwood), listening to Classic Country and Gospel music and
spending time with his family.
He will be greatly missed. His loved one’s cling to the truth and promise that we will
be reunited again, one day, in our eternal home with Jesus and what a joyous day that
will be. Till then, his memory lives on in our hearts and in the cherished recounts of his
times here on earth."

Services will be private.
