Life story

" Thomas “Tommy” Kaastra, 64, of Culpeper Virginia, passed away on February 24, 2026. Born and raised in New York, Thomas carried his strong roots and values with him throughout his life.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife Theresa “Teri” Kaastra of 45 years. His three children, John Kaastra, Jaclyn (Kaastra) Schilt and her husband Andrew Schilt, and Steven Kaastra; and his three cherished grandchildren, Audrianna, Karleigh and Andrew Schilt.

Thomas was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who worked hard and always made sure his family was cared for. He had a gift for making people laugh and brought joy to those around him with his sense of humor. His strength, faith, and deep love for his family carried him through even the toughest challenges.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.

Dad, not a day will go by that we won’t miss you. Thank you for everything you gave us- for your love, your strength, the laughter you brought into our lives. We will carry you with us always. "
