Life story

"Clara L Nelson was born October 7, 1941  in Darlington South Carolina. She departed life suddenly on February 8, 2026. In 1943 her parents Ojet Bennett and Clarence Bennett moved the family to Baltimore, MD for better Opportunities. She attended Dunbar high school and graduated on 1959. Shortly after high school she attended Morgan state university. 

In 1960 Clara started working at union memorial hospital as a nursing attendant. In 1966 she changed careers and started working at Social security administration as a claims adjuster. Clara worked for the US government for 44 years and retired in 2010. 

For those who knew Clara she had a very unique sense of humor. Anywhere from her stories back from her younger days to her unfiltered random thoughts you were always in for a laugh whenever you were in her presence. She loved her traveling. Her favorite places to visit were San Francisco in Hawaii. She was a football lover and could tell you the history behind any team that was mentioned, especially about the Baltimore Ravens.


Clara leaves behind Erica Jennings and her husband Howard and Kim Johnson and her husband Warren; loving grandmother of Jessica Johnson and Eriyah Jennings, and her Special niece Jannie from NewYork, grand nieces and nephews, and 3 Nephews Clearance, James, and Robert that proceeded in death.
