Life story
"Blaine is a hard-working man with a generous heart, known for his kindness, wisdom and sense of humor. People notice his warmth immediately. He loves music – especially the Grateful Dead, attending more than 300 shows.
He is a problem solver, someone others can rely on. Though he worked many jobs over the years, he still considers himself a carpenter. Working with his hands brings him joy. He is most proud of the timber framed house he helped build for the MacDonell’s on the Shenandoah River.
Family means everything to him. His nearly 30 year marriage he shares with his wife, Christina, is a one of a kind love. He met her at her car every day after work, carrying her things, a small daily ritual that speaks volumes about who he is and how he loves.
He always shows up for his family and friends. He is an amazing son, husband, dad, brother, uncle, and friend.
He loves the outdoors – camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, biking, and grilling (a true grill master). He is passionate about food! He cooks dinner every night and enjoys feeding people.
He loves and respects everyone unless given a reason not to, and he never lets active duty military or veterans pass without saying, “Thank you for your service.”
This is not good-bye. See you later Blaine. We love you!

"While I would prefer to be laughing with you and Christina, today I will share a few thoughts with your family and friends. From the first time I met you—also known as Christina's boyfriend at a family gathering—to dancing at your wedding, and to one last moment of laughter in November 2024, what always struck me was your kindness and love for your family. Behind that tough-guy look was a funny, soft guy. We love and miss you until we see you again. Lourdes Loch”
