Life story

" Thomas William Hunter Sr., 75 years old of Spotsylvania, VA, passed away at his home on January 20, 2026.

He was born on June 17, 1950 in Alexandria, VA to Bertha Estelle Mills and James Lewis Hunter, both who preceded Thomas in death. He is survived by his siblings, James (Jimmy) Hunter, Charles (Charlie) Hunter (Angie), Nancy Montgomery (Rick), and his wife of 46 years, Deborah Hunter along with his brothers-in-law, John (Lynda), Thomas (Loretta), Michael, Kevin (Megan), and Gary (Heather) Foley.

Thomas was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind three children, Jennifer (Megan) Hunter (Charlie), Amanda Hunter, and Thomas (Billy) Hunter Jr. (Janel), five grandchildren, Kadedra, Kayla, Trevon, Charles, and Jocelyn as well as two great-grandchildren, Adrian Garay and Zaiden Dean. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Thomas lived a full life as a Firefighter, Fire Chief, EMT, and Head of Fire and Safety at General Motors in Fredericksburg, VA. He loved baseball, trains, his pug Lexi, and good food. He shared
his catering business, Pork Hunter's BBQ with his family and long time friend/brother-in-law Richard (Rick) Montgomery, who also preceded Thomas in death. He will greatly be missed by all who loved and knew him. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Spotsylvania, VA."
