Life story

" Alfred Burnett, age 63, of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away on January 12, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1962, in Manhattan, New York, and was the son of Lydia Christman and Milton Burnett.

A first-generation college student, Alfred went on to earn his PhD and devoted his career to mental health as a therapist. He was known for his infectious laugh, his love for traveling the world and dancing, and his deep compassion for others. He spent his life helping people heal and feel seen.

He is survived by his beloved children, Joshua Burnett, Amber Lopez, and Jeremy Burnett; and his cherished grandchildren, Adrianna Burnett, Brooklyn Burnett, Anela Burnett, Makana Burnett, Zembria Burnett, and Zaylee Burnett. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Burnett.
