Life story
" Mary Margaret Norton (Drury), lovingly known as Nana, 99, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, closing the final chapter of a remarkable life that began on a cold March 3, 1926, in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin.
Born a twin, her brother Marlyn was always close by. Together they were the youngest of seven siblings, all of whom grew up working on the family dairy farm. Nana truly had a front row seat to American history, but the most important things to her were always closer to home.
Her church was a steady cornerstone throughout her life. It shaped her days and guided her heart, offering both community and purpose. She lived her faith not only in words, but through kindness, generosity, and a steadfast presence others could lean on.
Nana delighted in time spent with family. Holidays, ordinary afternoons, shared meals, and laughter around the television while watching Wheel of Fortune are memories her family will cherish forever. The simplest pleasures brought her the greatest joy: a bowl of chocolate ice cream, a cup of hot coffee, or a bowl of popcorn.
She built her life around faith, family, and the quiet joy of making things with her hands. Nana loved crafts of all kinds, turning simple materials into heartfelt gifts she continued to give until her final days. Her last handmade creations were given to the hospice nurses who cared for her so compassionately.
She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Debra Raynor Giessman and Thomas Edward Raynor Jr. (Chip), along with many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and even a great great grandchild. Her legacy stretches across generations, carried forward in the stories shared, traditions kept, and love she so freely gave.
To live 99 years is extraordinary. To fill those years with devotion, warmth, and unwavering love is even more so. Mary leaves behind a family rooted in her example and strengthened by her steady, faithful heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
