Life story

" James “Jimmy” Wallace Lyons(57) passed away on Tuesday December 9, 2025 in
Fairfax, Virginia.
Born in Waycross, Ga on May 9 th , 1968 to Richard and Judy Lyons, Jimmy grew up
on St. Simons Island. He was a 1986 graduate of Glynn Academy, a 1988 graduate
of Young Harris College where he was a member of Kappa Tau Omega Fraternity,
and then furthered his education at Georgia State University. Jimmy found a
career in the construction industry with Metromont/The Shockey Group for over
25 years as a project manager with a primary focus on parking decks and data
centers.
Growing up on St. Simons, Jimmy could be found hanging out at the Casino and
Mallory Park swimming and playing baseball with friends. He was very active in
the Episcopal Youth Ministries. He will be remembered for his love of family, all
things UGA ,and his love for the north Georgia mountains.
Preceded in death by his father, Jimmy is survived by his wife of 25 years Tina, son
Dalton, stepchildren Krissi Davis(Chris), Wade Deason(Nora),4 grandchildren,
mother Judy, brother Steve(Marcember), sister Shawn(Cam), and many extended
family members.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, January 24, 10:00am at St Marks
Episcopal Church in Brunswick, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the
American Diabetes Association (P.O Box 7023 Merrifield, Va 22116) or The
Episcopal Diocese of Georgia Retreat Center (Honey Creek 200 Georgia Episcopal
Conference Center Rd. Waverly, Ga. 31565) may be made. "
