Life story
" Paul Anthony Wolff, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at the age of 73. Born on February 3, 1952, in Washington, D.C., Paul lived a life rich in love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He was the son of Walter Louis Wolff and Anna Wolff, who instilled in him the values of kindness and hard work. Paul is survived by his devoted brothers, Spencer Wolff and Danny Wolff, and his sister, Maggie Voorhees. He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Buddy Wolff and Edward Wolff, and his sisters, Ann Bailey and Lynn Thomas.
As a proud father, Paul leaves behind his four adoring children: David Wolff (Valerie), Brad Wolff (Maria), Scott Wolff (Cassandra), and his beloved daughter, Allison Wolff (Joseph Sullivan). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy: Dylan Wolff, Austin Carpenter, Kaylan Wolff, Vera, Benjamin, Jeremy, and Eleanor Wolff, along with Bentlee Noble and Frankie Sullivan.
Paul dedicated 30 years of his life to the Washington Post, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and dedication to his craft. He built lasting friendships throughout his career, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Outside of his professional life, Paul was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for music and spent countless hours enjoying and sharing his favorite tunes. He was an avid collector of coins, a hobby that brought him both excitement and a sense of history. Paul was also a devoted sports fan, particularly of the Washington Redskins, showcasing his loyalty and enthusiasm for the teams he loved.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Paul’s life on January 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the White Oak Fire Department, located at 12 Newton Rd, Fredericksburg, Virginia. All are welcome to attend and share their memories of a man who touched so many lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the White Volunteer Oak Fire Department at the address listed above, recognizing the community service that was dear to Paul’s heart.
