Life story

" Richard Anthony Gonet, age 79, passed away on December 8, 2025 surrounded by his family at home in Bealeton, Virginia.
Born and raised in Salem, MA, he was the son of Bolish Gonet and Louise Conley. He
served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS PETREL until his honorable discharge in 1964.
He then went on to build a 30-year career as a chemical compounder and then a quality control technician. Richard enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing in his pool league, meticulously mowing his lawn, making funny home videos, sitting on his glider while watching the birds, telling jokes to anyone who would listen, and being the entertainment of any party. He spent his life making people laugh and making sure his family and friends knew that they were cherished.
He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Kathy Gonet; his three daughters; Sandra
Bellefountaine of Biddeford, ME, Renee Prescott of North Andover, MA., and Ana Gonet of Bealeton, VA.; as well as nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson who shared his name, Richard Anthony Gonet.
He will be missed immensely by all who were lucky enough to have known him."
