Life story

" Barbara Ann Harlin Embrey Stahler, age 87, passed away gently and peacefully Thursday, December 4, 2025. She was born April 15, 1938 in Bessemer, AL to Ralph and Dorothy Harlin. In 1957 she met and married Joseph Arthur “Billy” Embrey, the father of her four children. After his death in 1977, she met and married Carl Francis Stahler in 1993. They were happily married for 31 years before he passed away in 2024. She worked as a Contract Specialist for the US Government at Fort Belvoir for 33 years. She was highly successful and respected for her work ethic and knowledge in a predominately male environment, which was unprecedented for a woman during that time.
Mom and “BaBaa” was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and Elvis. She greatly enjoyed Bingo, visits to casinos and was a frequent guest at Tim’s II Fairview. We will continue to visit these places in her honor and will forever miss her presence.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Ann Harlin and Alice Harlin, loving aunt & uncle, Nellie “Clyde” and Shorty Sadler, step-mother, Ruth Harlin, grandson, Billy Embrey and granddaughter, Ashley Embrey.
She is survived by her children, Cheryle, Chris (Danette), Kenny and David Embrey, sister, Helen Agan, 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Per her request, there will be no service.
