Life story
"Linda Mae Waldrip, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Amissville, VA, on October 13, 2025.
Born in New London, NH, to Annette and Jordan Grace, Linda spent a significant portion of her life in Virginia. She cherished her morning coffee, often observing bears, beautiful birds and deer through her picture window.
In her early twenties, a road trip led her to meet her beloved husband, Lee Waldrip. Together, they built a beautiful life in their Virginia home, accompanied by their cherished Jack Russell Terriers. Linda dedicated many years to her career as a Senior Programmer Analysts with Fairfax County, VA, and found immense joy in a good shopping trip.
Linda was also known for her talents in sewing and crocheting, generously creating gifts and thoughtful care packages for her family and spending hours on the phone with her sister. Her sweet Virginia accent, radiant smile, positivity, and always wanting to connect with family will be missed.
She is survived by her stepdaughters Susan M. Waldrip (Eileen Everett), Amy A. Wharton (John), and Karen E. (MJ) Waldrip, her grandchildren, John J. (Joey) Wharton and Andrew N. (Andy) Wharton, sister Katherine Johnson of Concord, NH and brothers Bobby Grace of Claremont, NH, Brian Grace of Chichester, NH, Timothy Baker of Fort Smith, AR, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jordan Grace and Annette Laughy-Baker, her husband, Ralph Leland (Lee) Waldrip, and her brother, Ronald Grace.
In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Orlean, Virginia Company 11 Volunteer Fire Department or the Fauquier, Virginia SPCA in Linda's memory are appreciated."
Services will be announced at a later date.
