"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Cindy Davis-McGavin who left us peacefully on August 3rd at the age of 47.

Born on May 6th, 1978 in Merced, California, Cindy was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She brought light and warmth into every life she touched with her kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit


Cindy had a passion for nursing, teaching, music, helping others, and always going above and beyond for her patients. Her dedication to ICU nursing was a true testament to her character and commitment to making the world a better place.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory McGavin, her son Joseph McGavin, her sister Kristi Davis, her niece Kaitlyn Davis, and many friends who will carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion.

In lieu of memorial service her family will be holding a private celebration of life as wished by Cindy. In lieu of flowers, Cindy would simply want you to volunteer at your local hospital, food bank, or anything that would help your community.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had with her and the memories we will forever cherish. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She is now no longer suffering and is up in heaven celebrating with her Dad, Michael Davis and her grandmother Margaret Davis and Papa Vernon Davis. "
