Life story

"Ba Thi Nguyen was born on March 4, 1944, in Saigon, Vietnam. Enjoying the small things in life, she would be fond of listening to music, in which her favorite song was Chuyến đò vĩ tuyến, playing her favorite game, Bài Tứ Sắc, and cooking for those around her. She has always been a devoted and nurturing woman, beloved by family and friends alike.

Whenever anybody came across trouble, she would be a reliable shoulder to lean on. A person who deeply cared for the well-being of others, and would not think twice to sacrifice herself to create a better life for the people around her. Through both the happiest of times and the worst of times, she was the one who held her family together.

In Vietnam, she was a committed wife and a loving mother who did everything to ensure the security and health of her community. Even after tragedies and difficulties, she persevered as a pillar whom everyone can rely on. Even after immigrating to the United States in 1981, she continued to work, dedicating over 20 years of her life to providing for her family. Despite going through all these hardships, she continued to support raising her family, guiding them through their life’s achievements, challenges, and milestones.

Despite the adversities in her life, she always prioritized her family’s well-being and put the interests of others first. In her final moments, our mom’s heart was filled with love for her family. She wanted them to promise to come together and support each other just as she did.

Her whole life, she was committed to creating happiness for others, and through that support, we felt her love. We want to show her our love in remembrance of how she lived and who she was.

Today, she is remembered as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother."
