"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Rott, a beloved husband, friend, and member of our community, who passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the age of 81.
Glenn was born on July 24, 1943, and was a kind and compassionate soul who touched the lives of everyone he met. He married the love of his life, Kathleen (Kathy) Rott, in October 1994, and their bond was a testament to his unwavering dedication and love. Glenn’s life was marked by his selflessness, especially in his later years when he devoted himself fully to caring for Kathy, who had been in poor health.
For six years, Glenn worked as a janitor for Poplar Bluff R-1, where he was known for his strong work ethic, his easygoing nature, and his willingness to lend a hand wherever it was needed. His calm demeanor and steady presence were a source of comfort to many. He will be remembered as a gentle and kind man with a laid-back spirit.
In his retirement, Glenn found peace in caring for his wife, never asking for recognition but always putting others’ needs before his own. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his family and friends who were fortunate to witness his kindness firsthand.
Glenn was preceded in death by his Father, Glenn Rott, mother, Brenda Rott, and brother, Frank Rott. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Rott, son, Hank Rott, daughter, Tina Rott, stepdaughters, Sarah Ferguson, and Erin Hendrix, grandchildren, Jordan Fowler, Hunter Ferguson, Alexandra Ferguson, Grant Ferguson, Scott Barks, and Alexis Barks.
