Life story
" Herman Hogge, born on December 17, 1966, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away on June 28, 2025, in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was 58 years old.
Throughout his life, Herman found joy in the simple yet profound pleasures of family and faith. He was a devoted father to his three children: Dustin (Tracey) Krinsky, Ashley (Blaise) Levai, Herman Hogge and Step daughter Danielle Scruggs. His love for them extended naturally to his four grandchildren—Wyatt Krinsky; Braxton and Landry Levai; and Colton Lay—who brought him immense happiness and pride.
Herman cherished every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. Whether it was taking them fishing or accompanying them to church, he found fulfillment in sharing these meaningful experiences. These moments reflected the values he held dear—connection, guidance, and spiritual grounding.
Born and raised in Virginia, Herman remained closely tied to his roots throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him and shared in the warmth of his company.
May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him. "

"My deepest condolences to your family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the beautiful promise found in Revelation 21:4: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I hope you feel surrounded by love, peace, and strength. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.”
