Life story

"Johan L. Woolfolk AKA "Jo Cool", 50, of Ruther Glen, Virginia, departed this life on June 2, 2025, at VCU Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was born in Richmond, Virginia, on July 5, 1974, to James Woolfolk Sr. and Mary Ellen Woolfolk.
Johan accepted Christ at an early age and completed his high school education. Throughout his life, he worked various jobs, including at the auction, moving furniture, installing swimming pools, and performing tree services. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and whenever there was a gathering or event, Johan was sure to be there.
Always willing to lend a helping hand, he will be remembered for his humor, generous spirit, and ability to bring laughter into any room.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Dorothy Mae.
Johan leaves behind five children: LaQuan, Malik, Jaquandre, Kyasia, and Keasia. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Aaliyah, LaQuan Jr., Kaiden, Jaquandre Jr., Deandre, Kamir, and Ka'Marion. He is also survived by his beloved grandmother, Inez Woolfolk; three bonus children, MarQuis, Cortez, and Kania; one brother, James Jr.; one sister, Crystal; one nephew, Jaylen; and two nieces, Sequoia and Tekara.
His memory is also cherished by a host of uncles, including Harry (Brenda),
Mark, Bruce
(Priscilla), Cornell (Diane), Aubrey (Carolyn), Lionel, and Ronald; aunts, including Larkett (Rick), Roxxane (Emmett), Amy, Gloria, Donna, Sheila, and Clarissa (Van); great-uncles Brent Childs (Ann), Elmer, and Andrew; and great-aunt Martina (Gerald). He also leaves behind his devoted significant other, Kunte Fox; dedicated cousins Sarah and Eddie; supportive aunts Larkett and Diane; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Johan's love, laughter, and warm spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him."
