Life story
" Craig Eugene White was born on January 3, 1956 in Los Angeles, California to the late Arnold White and Charolette White. His late stepmother Virginia (Woody) also played a significant role in his life. Craig graduated from Dorsey high school in 1974 where he had made many lifelong friends.
Craig loved music and whenever the opportunity arose he took to the “mic”either singing or playing his saxophone. He played in many bands in his 20s up and down the state of California. He played the role of King Curtis in the movie “The Buddy Holly Story”where he got a chance to play his saxophone. Craig used his musical gifts for the Lord and sang in the choirs at the churches he attended . He sang many solos and one he liked to sing was I miss my time with you. In addition to being a musician, he graduated from cosmetology school and became a barber, he later became a carpenter, and a medical assistant at Kaiser Permanente. When he moved to Long Beach, he enjoyed spending time riding his bicycle on the beach. Craig had two sons from a previous marriage who he enjoyed making them laugh with his sense of humor. When they were young he participated in the Scouts with them and helped each of them win the Pinewood car derby race.
Craig is survived by his two sons Craig Justin and Cameron White (Mirla) White, grandsons, Korey, William , Dante, and grand daughters Destiny and Crystal; his brother Arnold White ( Debbie) and sister Debra White , and a host of nieces of nephews. His sister Carolyn Larke recently passed away on April 10, 2025 . He was predeceased by his fatherArnold White, mother, Charolette White.
