Life story

" With a heavy heart, we announce that Jimmy King passed away on May 3, 2025 in Fredericksburg, VA. Jimmy, aka Fuzzy, was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family beyond words.

He married the love of his life, Michelle, after knowing each other only 6 months in July 1999 and spent the next 25 years making memories.

Jimmy was born 11/29/1969 to Bobby and Betty and raised in Bastrop, Tx with a very large family. He worked many jobs in construction throughout his life and loved being a mason and electrician by trade, taking pride in all of his work.

Jimmy loved country music, going dancing, and going to concerts. He also loved the Texas Longhorns. He loved being at the stadium on game day, even if it was just tailgating. He always talked about the time he got invited onto Earl Campbells bus at a game to have a couple of drinks and watch the game. He cared deeply about his family and friends. Family gatherings meant the world to him. He was very spontaneous and loved going on "adventures", just getting in the car and seeing where it leads, especially the mountains. Jimmy was a big history buff, and since moving to Virginia in 2010, his interest in Early American history strengthened and he loved sharing his knowledge with his kids and grandkids. Later in life, his extensive collection of tools kept him entertained in his garage, always happy to have company to chat about tools.

He is survived by his wife Michelle, daughter Emily, her husband Tyler and their children Cameron and Callie. Sons Logan, Timothy, and Joe, his wife Jeannie and their son Zane. He is also survived by brothers Robert (Lois) , Bill (Julie), and sisters Dollie, Joanne, and Joy (Tommy), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Betty and father Bobby.

We would like to thank all of the staff at Mary Washington Hospital for all of their hard work and taking care of him in his final days. We also thank all of the friends and family who have been there for us in this time of grief. "
