Life story
"Robert Storie, known to family and friends as Bob, passed away on April 24, 2025 at his home in Newalla, Oklahoma. He was born on September 22, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jack and Virginia Storie.
Bob graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1969 and from Rose State College in 1992.
Bob and his wife, Sandra were neighbors when they were children and met at ages 7 and 11. They were married on March 11, 1971, and just celebrated 54 years of marriage.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard and Sister, Debbie. He is survived by his wife Sandra; sons, Greg and wife Michelle and David and wife Carrie; grandchildren, Jake and wife, Dana, Bryce and wife, Lauren, Kirsten and husband, Dustin, Josh, Heather and Brooke; Great grandchildren; Jemma, Joni, Mason, Rhett, Azaria, Ezra, Wyatt; and stepfather Paul Koelsch.
Bob referred to his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as his blessings from God and was so proud of all of them.
Bob worked many different jobs in his lifetime to support his family including electrician, auto mechanic and in his early forties went to Rose State College earning his degree in Electronics. With his electronics degree he was able to get hired at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) which he worked at for 22 years, retiring in 2016. While at FAA he repaired airport runway lighting equipment and quickly became the go-to person for that equipment. He then became an instructor, training FAA technicians across the United States in the maintenance and repair of those systems.
Bob enjoyed many hobbies and sports over his lifetime but the one that he enjoyed most was drag racing. He is well known for his '63 split window Pro Mod style Vette that he built himself. He won numerous races and had one of the fastest cars around. Many of his fellow racers became long time good friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Eastland Hills Church on Monday April 28, 2025 located at 3000 S. Hiwassee, Choctaw, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Viewing will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. till time of service."
