Life story

"Born on September 5, 1952, Richard lived a life defined not by titles or accolades, but by something far more lasting — the quiet, dependable strength of a man who was always there when you needed him.

Whether you were family, a friend, or just someone lucky enough to cross his path, Richard had a way of showing up. If you had a problem — a busted car, a broken mower, something that needed fixing — he was the kind of man who’d roll up his sleeves and give it everything he had. And more often than not, he got it working again.

He never asked for payment. He never kept score. All he might ask in return was to sit and have a drink with you, to share a story, a laugh, a bit of time. That was his way. Giving, helping, building — not for praise, but because that’s what good men do.

He worked hard his whole life. Early on, it was drywall, then farming — long days, tough work, no complaints. On the side, he put his skills to use as a handyman, often with his youngest son by his side. Together we fixed what others couldn’t, quietly carrying the weight of our community one repair at a time.

Richard loved the simple things with deep passion: a quiet day on the water with a fishing pole in hand, the thrill of a fast car under his feet, the warmth of family gathered nearby. His sense of humor could sneak up on you, and his loyalty was as solid as the tools he used every day.

He wasn’t loud about his goodness. He didn’t need to be. It showed in the lives he touched, the engines that ran because of him, the people who could breathe easier knowing Richard was just a phone call away.

In the end, Richard lived his life like he lived his days — honestly, humbly, and always ready to help. He leaves behind a world made better by his hands, his heart, and his steady presence.

His work here is done. And he did it well!
