Life story
" The soul of Joseph Gregory left the planet on April 8,2025. He was named after his father Joseph Franklin Gregory and was Joseph Daniel Gregory II. When his Dad stayed with us recovering from his heart surgery, when I called for Joe, both would answer so we chose to use his middle name to prevent confusion and he was
known as Dan from that time on.
Dan's body is now free from the pain caused by congestive heart failure, diabetes, and renal failure along with delirium and sleep apnea.
He leaves his wife, Sherie; his daughter, Tracie and her husband, Matt; his beloved dogs, Jewel and Sophie Mae; his brother, Kenneth Scott and his wife, Ruth; his niece, Catherine and her husband, Calvin; nephew, Stephen and his wife, Brittany; his best friends, Andy Henderson and Lionel Jackson and his wife, Linda; along with his Aunt Joan; cousins, Van, Rita and her husband, Hann; and their children.
He enjoyed photography and captured beautiful images of the monuments in the Parks in Utah that were spectacular along with many wildlife photos from our many trips to Skyline Drive which was another one of the favorite adventures he loved.
Dan was and avid hunter and fisherman and belonged to Chattanooga Bowman's Club and Blue Ridge Bowhunter's Club. His bow was his strength, a true toxophilite. His time at Norfolk, Virginia where he served in the Navy and left many of his engineering skills to others to use when his time in the Navy ended. He spent his off time on the Aircraft carriers stationed there and loved watching the planes landing and taking off ... He also
worked in the White House and received an award from President Bush when he retired from his duty there. His service to our Country was a mission he enjoyed and still talks about to this day .. During the past few years Dan's hobbies included gardening ,hunting, wood working, metal lathe work and his apiary with many bee hives which remain in his orchard. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching and spent many hours listening in the woods for the Gobblers calling in the Spring and fully enjoyed all that nature had to offer.
He will be missed.
