Life story

"Cody Thomas Linkous, 25, passed away on March 19, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Born on August 6, 1999, in Woodbridge, Virginia, Cody brought joy and laughter to those around him from an early age.

A 2017 graduate of Colonial Forge High School, Cody began an electrical apprenticeship with IBEW Local Union 26 in 2023. He embraced this new path with enthusiasm and determination, dedicating himself to learning his trade and taking pride in meaningful work.

Cody was known for his kind heart and uplifting spirit. His infectious energy and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether offering one of his famously warm hugs or delivering a perfectly timed joke, Cody had a gift for making others feel seen and appreciated. His close bond with his grandmother Nancy brought him special joy.

He was a passionate gamer who loved immersing himself in “Gears of War” and “Magic: The Gathering.” Cody also expressed his creativity through producing YouTube content, using digital storytelling to share his interests and connect with others.

Cody is lovingly remembered by his mother, Cynthia Major; stepfather, Todd Major; father, Robert Gorsuch; stepmother, Jody Gorsuch; sister, Gracie Major; stepbrothers, Damon Major and Andrew Purusse; stepsister, Jessica Major; grandmothers, Nancy Maine and Helen Gorsuch; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family who cherished him.

Cody will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Grace Chapel, 271 Warrenton Rd Suite 100, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
