Life story
" William Arlie (Billy) Stroupe Sr., 79, of Stanley, Virginia, passed away after a battle with ongoing health issues.
Born on January 15th, 1946, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Jesse and Annie Stroupe, Billy was a free spirit with a restless soul. In his own words, he was “born to raise hell”.
Though his journey took him many places, the Shenandoah Valley is where he called home. A Master Plumber by trade, Billy took great pride in his work and was known for his skill and craftsmanship.
Billy was preceded in death by his sisters Dixie Comer and Barbara Cubbage, as well as his firstborn daughter, Terrina Foster.
He is survived by his siblings: sisters Ginger Blankenbaker and Debbie Freeze, brothers Mike Cooper, Mitchell Rogers (Lisa), and Dewey Rogers (Sandra).
Billy also leaves behind five children William (Willie) Stroupe, Julie Lam, Cindy Housden (Jeff), William (BJ) Stroupe Jr. (Leah), and Shelly Stroupe, as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
