Born on September 22, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, James was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

James was a dedicated family man, leaving behind his cherished daughters, Edna Cook and Gwendolyn L. Porter, and his sons, Desmond Cook and James Edward Cook Jr. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. James took great joy in watching his family grow and thrive, and he instilled in them the values of love, respect, and perseverance.

Throughout his life, James was known for his unwavering spirit and his ability to bring people together. He had a remarkable talent for storytelling, often sharing tales from his youth that would captivate his audience and spark laughter.
