Life story
" On February 27th, Suzanne Price Simpson of Warrenton, VA was welcomed joyfully into heaven following a brave 13-month journey with brain cancer. She passed comfortably at home in the wee hours of the night, surrounded by her devoted husband and children, love and prayers until her very last moment.
Born at GW Hospital in Washington, DC, the third of four children, and raised in Falls Church, VA... she lived her young life to the fullest. Described by her mother as a real go-getter from an early age, her pastimes included soccer, where she was notably one of the first girls on an all-boys team, basketball at the community rec center, and enjoyed life with her innumerable neighborhood friends. She graduated from the former George Mason High School.
Later she attended Shepherd College majoring in History. After school, while working as a waitress at the "Sign of the Whale" in Loehmann's Plaza, she served Jim lunch and realized she may have met the love of her life. Immediately, Jim felt the same and, the boy down the street, Jimmy Simpson, soon after became her husband of 37 years. They subsequently settled in Warrenton, VA and, had three wonderful children Caroline (36), Jimmy (35) & Daniel (33).
It was during these years where she blossomed into the most wonderful, loving, fun and devoted wife and mother that we all knew her to be. While running a business with her husband, she volunteered for girl scouts, coached basketball and soccer and was ever-present at elementary school functions. She loved everyone and her infectious smile said it was so.
She reluctantly headed into sales but ended up as one of the top account execs at two office supply companies in the northern Virginia region. Her excellence at work awarded she and Jimmy many-a-beach destination getaway.
Still, NEVER one to worry about herself, her life was marked by selflessness, generosity, and humor. To know her was to love her. She had a gift for making everyone feel at ease and loved. Her laugh, dance moves, effortless homemade meals, warm hugs, hospitality, beauty and friendship will be tremendously missed.
And, the smile led to an equally big heart which made her a beloved pillar of an extensive family. "Sukey" as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren, was the doting grandmother of two, Maggie (6) & Clyde (4).
She is survived by her mother Susan M. Price (Lewis B Price predeceased), her siblings, Benny, Catherine (Tom Polera), and Greg (Claudia Price); and her children Caroline (Jon Allison), Jimmy (Jeanne Hodges), and Daniel.

"I am so grateful for the time we spent together, from when you would come down here to see Grandmommy and I, to when I would go up to see you and Aunt Sue would make salmon for our dinners. I will miss you so much but our memories together will keep you with me forever. I know you’re making the skies absolutely beautiful from Heaven, I love you Aunt Suzanne. Love, Kaitlyn.”
