Life story

"Johnny A. Dyer spent his professional life in service to others. Upon graduation from Northside High School, Jonny joined the Airforce. While serving in Vietnam he was wounded and exposed to Agent Orange. His exposure to Agent Orange ultimately led to his death. After the completion of his military duty, he returned to Tuscaloosa and began his career in law enforcement. He served first with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department and then became a Forensic Investigator with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. Upon his retirement he became very active in the Alabama Private Investigators Association.

Johnny was very well respected by his peers in law enforcement. He was very active in several churches in Tuscaloosa and demonstrated a keen interest in understanding the Bible. He was also very active in the Northside Lion's Club upon his retirement. He enjoyed bringing laughter to his friends and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. "
