Life story

" Darra Dawn Ward passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2025 in her home in Reva, VA. She is survived by her husband John, her eldest daughter Linda and her husband Joe and her youngest daughter Erin and husband Don. She has two beautiful grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew, who she loved fiercely. She is also survived by her sister Teri Lynn.

When they were young, Darra dedicated her time to her children, being active in their lives by joining the PTA, being a girl scout leader as well as a youth group leader with the chuch. After raising the girls, Darra and John went on to have their own adventures, including backpacking down the Grand Canyon...twice. She retired from San Gabriel High School after many years of devoted service. Once retired, she and John moved to VA to be closer to her children and grandchilden.

It was in Virginia that she joined the Culpeper Democrats and was proud of the work they were doing for local, state and national elections. She became very passionate about politics, which if you knew her, knew that passion came through in her Facebook posts.

While this has been a very difficult time for her family, we know that she is at peace.
