Life story

" Renee Helen Litten, 67, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and skilled hairstylist, she brought beauty and kindness to all who knew her.

For over 40 years, Renee used her talent as a hairstylist to bring confidence to her clients and create lasting connections with everyone who sat in her chair. At home, she was a loving wife to Scott and a proud mother to Nicole and Adrienne, creating a life rich in love, laughter, and lasting memories. Renee loved gardening, camping, and caring for animals, passions that reflected her connection to the beauty of nature. Above all, her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Kaila and Kaden, a role she embraced with endless love and pride.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Litten; her daughters, Adrienne Juteau and Nicole Williams; her son-in-law, David Varela; her grandchildren, Kaila Banning and Kaden Juteau; her mother, Sylvia Derby; her mother-in-law, Barbara Litten; and her brother, Ted Derby Jr., along with his wife, Marybeth. She was predeceased by her father, Theodore Derby. Renee also leaves behind many dear friends and her beloved pets, Atlas, Rosso, Duncan, and Benny.

A celebration of her life will be held on January 18, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4123 in Fredericksburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Fredericksburg SPCA. Renee's memory will live on in the beauty she created and the love she shared."
