Life story

"Daniel Ariel Nelson of Unionville, Virginia, passed away from Parkinson’s disease at the age of 82. Dan attended school in Driggs Idaho until 1954 and graduated from MaCall Idaho High school. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp. making a great career of 22 years, 2 languages, an engineering degree, Vietnam Vet and after retirement went on for 28 years in Naval intelligence. He was a 1st. Lieutenant when he retired from the Marine Corps. He met the love of his life, his wife JoAnn Procter, while serving at the Embassy in Algiers as a young Marine. Dan was smart, curious, and calm about everything in life, being stubborn and determined at the same time! A proud father, grandfather and great grandfather!! He will be missed by his family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his wife JoAnn, daughter Danielle, both his parents, brother Ervin, sister Dixie and half brother Sage. Dan is survived by two sisters, Trixie Beard of Tetonia, ID and Deanna Poorte of Rigby, ID and many extended family members."
