Life story

"Donna Louise Angotti, of Spotsylvania Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 11, 2024, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, after an intense battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the Body of Christ working in and through the Hollywood Church of the Brethren, and caring hospital staff. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 13, 1960, to Elizabeth Jane Bassich Angotti and the late Lewis Paul Angotti.

Donna grew up in Columbus, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Erie, Pennsylvania. In 1979, she graduated as Salutatorian from McDowell High School, in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Donna was a beloved child of God. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt. She loved music and to sing. She sang in the Hollywood Church of the Brethren Choir. As a young woman, Donna played the piano and flute, was a ballet dancer and loved the theater and arts.

Donna loved animals, especially her pet dogs and cats. She loved God’s creation, always taking long walks with her dogs along trails at Presque Isle in Erie, Pennsylvania, in New York City, and in the battlefields surrounding Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Donna was both an Engineer and a Patent Attorney. She graduated from Penn State University from the Honors Engineering Program, and from Georgetown University Law School. She practiced Patent Law in Washington, D.C and New York City before retiring to Fredericksburg to be closer to family.

Donna is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Jane Bassich Angotti, brother Lewis Angotti, sister Elizabeth Thurber, niece Virginia Covelesky and her husband Michael, great-nephew James Thaddeus Covelesky, stepmother Grace Bell Angotti, and stepsisters Kathy Wilson and Elizabeth Bell.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Hollywood Church of the Brethren in Stafford County, Virginia on December 7 at 11 am. "
