Life story

"Rhonda Thompson, originally of Tehachapi California, passed away at St. Raphael's Rehabilitation Center in Happy Valley, North Dakota on September 6,2024.

Because of her weak health condition, Drs were unable to perform surgery to repair the injuries she substained during a fall she had while at the facility. She was then put on hospice pain care, where she was able to passed peacefully.

Rhonda was born to Darsey and Leonard Gutierrez in San Francisco, California. She had four siblings, three brothers and one sister.

Rhonda moved with her mother and two of her younger siblings to her parents home town of Tehachapi California, when her parents divorced. Rhonda loved Tehachapi and considered it her home town.

Rhonda was a free Spirit that loved everyone and everything. She loved traveling to new places and seeing new things.

Rhonda was passionate about her family and close friends. Her love for them was truly unconditional. She had such a giving and loving heart. She was a simple person, and didn't have a lot, but if someone needed something she would give what ever she had and would help who ever she could, even if it meant she went without.

Rhonda loved all animals. And they loved her. Including the little mice outside. She'd even leave them little snacks to eat. She enjoyed crafting, entertaining, anything outdoors, holidays, especially Halloween and work. Rhonda could turn junk into a masterpiece! Rhonda was a social person, so she loved being able to work with people. She had many types of jobs from accounting, cooking, waitressing and bartending to name a few. She always said out of all her jobs, she loved bartending the most. She loved all the different people she'd meet as well as all the different conversations she was able to engage in.

Rhonda loved the Lord, she would pray for everyone. So knowing she is now pain free and at peace with the Lord, we choose not to morn Rhonda, but instead enjoy the blessing she now has reuniting with two of her grand children, as well as her parents, friends and her beloved dog Smokie.

Rhonda's giving heart will be missed by her younger sister Marcy, older brother David, younger brother Bruce, her daughter Jannesha, grandchildren Kiah and Harley, her 9 great grandchildren as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins, ex-husband and close friends. Especially her one friend Kristyann, she gave her the most joy in her last years. Rhonda loved her like she was her own daughter."

Services will be announced at a later date.
