Life story
"On Tuesday, September 17th, Leon Ray Cary, beloved husband, father, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather passed away at the age of eighty-nine. Leon was born to Loren and Fern Cary in Brewster, Kansas along with his siblings Cecil and Vesta. Leon married his wife Linda on December 29th, 1957. She proceeded him in death in 2020. Leon graduated from Kansas State University and entered service in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, Leon would go on to work for the United States Department of Agriculture. He would work as a civil servant until his retirement. Leon and Linda had four children together: Deborah, Michael, Kathleen, and David. They would also have four grandchildren: Nicole, Cassandra, Clinton, and Matthew. Additionally, three great-grandchildren: Alexis, Hunter, and Colt. Lastly, a great-great-grand-daughter, Everleigh, born earlier this year.
Leon and Linda enjoyed traveling and were fond birdwatchers. Following retirement, they visited nearly every U.S. state in their RV with their dog, Mikey. While Leon will be severely missed by many, he is now reunited with his wife and best friend.
Leon’s family plans to hold a celebration of life for him at a yet-to-be determined date. "
