Life story

" It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Robert (Bob) J.
Martin of Fredericksburg, VA, who left us on September 2, 2024, at the age of 90. He was a
pillar of strength and a beacon of love; his absence leaves a void in our hearts. He cherished
every moment spent with his loved ones.
Bob is a veteran of the Vietnam War and served an honorable career in the U.S. Army, earning
the following: National Defense Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Good Conduct
Medal; Aircraft Crewman Badge; Air Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Korean Service Medal;
Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Expert Badge Rifle M-14; United Nations
Service Medal; 2 Overseas Service Bars.
He is predeceased by his parents, Walter William Martin and Violet Mary Martin.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Theresa A. Martin; two daughters, Theresa
Rudowski (Colin), and Robin Martin. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Jamie Cameron
(Justin), Chase Rudowski (Kathleen), Daniel McCleese (Laura), Brian McCleese (Amanda); and
seven great-grandchildren: Owen and Austin Cameron, Callie Rudowski, Amelia, Natalie, Avery
and Emily McCleese.
A private service will be held at a later date."
