Ollie Mae Hurt-Spearman, born on April 10, 1948, in Senatobia, Mississippi, dedicated her life to caring for others as a skilled nurse. Raised in the deep South, she ventured to Chicago as a young adult to pursue her nursing degree, driven by a passion for service and a desire to make a difference. She earned her Master’s degree from Governor State University in University Park, IL, and built a distinguished career, serving at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, IL, the VA in San Francisco, CA, and the VA in Memphis, TN, among others.

Ollie was married to Mose Hurt, with whom she had two daughters, Catherine Hurt-Green and Christina Hurt. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy through her grandchildren, Aaron J Hurt, Edwin J. Green IV, Harrison J. Green, and Kayla J. Green. Ollie was also married to the late Wesley Spearman after her long awaited retirement from the nursing field. She also leaves behind step children Ken Spearman, Andre Spearman, Tiffany Spearman as well as grandchildren Omarion and Kiah Spearman.

Despite facing numerous health challenges and the heartbreaking loss of her second husband, Wesley Spearman, Ollie Mae persevered with unwavering faith. She often attributed her strength and resilience to the grace of God, whom she trusted wholeheartedly. Her life was a testament to her belief in the power of faith and the importance of caring for others."
