"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret “Granny” Davis. She was the monarch of the Davis family. She married young, at the age of 16, to Vernon Davis. They started a family right away. They had 6 wonderful children. Dottie Kelly Davis, Butch Davis, Norma Smithers Davis, Gayle Davis, Tommy Davis, and Michael Davis. She raised her kids with great work ethic, kindness, and made sure they were all taught the word of God. Margaret worked most of her life in a plant nursery, and had a love for all plants. She definitely had a green thumb. She attended Apopka Baptist Church every Sunday faithfully, and made many lifelong friends along the way. She welcomed her first granddaughter Kristi Davis in 1974 and her first grandson Johnson Davis in 1976. Along the way she had more grandchildren including Vickie Smithers, Lisa Smithers,Chris Smithers, Bill Kelly, Robin Davis, Cindy and Carrie Davis, Matthew and Sean Davis. Her grandchildren adored her, and she treated each one as though they were her favorite. She has several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren. She loved teddy bears and had so many it filled up a entire bedroom. She lived a long, fulfilling life, and it brings the family great peace that she is with the Lord now. The family will be holding a private ceremony on Wednesday July 31st, 2024. "
